Ministry Background

I have been deeply involved in missions for the past twelve years. For whatever reason, God has blessed me with a deep understanding of His Great Commission and the needs of people in un-reached countries of the world. And from the very beginning of that walk I have applied my business, ministry and organizational skills to building and improving church missions programs.

I have spent most of my adult years helping people and organizations establish their priorities, reach their goals and achieve success. To encourage ministry teams along the path that God has laid for them, see them grow in confidence and creativity and nudge them toward excellence has truly been a blessing to me. I have served in many ministry positions and have organized, led or participated on many short-term missions trips and am personally involved with national church planters and ministry partners around the globe.

I have expertise in helping missions teams improve all aspects of their programs. I can help you review, develop, simplify, update and improve your ministry policies and guidelines for greater accountability and productivity. I can help your team set goals and create solid implementation plans to help your team achieve those goals. And as a result, I’ll help you build a stronger and more cohesive team.

I have developed proven techniques and strategies to help missions teams better evaluate potential and existing ministry partners and to help find and evaluate exciting ministry projects around the world. I enjoy helping missions teams become better organized and helping them create programs that will excite the members of their church.

As a Christian Life Coach, I spend my time helping people and organizations renew their focus and increase their potential by helping them overcome past mistakes, obstacles, regrets and missed opportunities so that they can make better choices that will lead to positive and measurable changes in their lives and organizations. I use biblical principles, coaching techniques and a lifetime of service to help my clients achieve all that God has intended for them and to no longer accept mediocre results as a way of life.
I use the same techniques when I consult with ministry teams. I help teams explore opportunities, evaluate risks, create better goals, develop smarter plans and make wiser choices so they can be more successful for the kingdom of Christ. I create a process of honestly evaluating where teams are, helping them discover God’s purpose for their team and, with accountability, help them take the right steps to where they are supposed to be.

I have personally used the Strategic Intent program to help grow a missions program at our previous church in San Jose, California (with a congregation size of about 300) that started with a Faith Promise budget of $57,000 and in three years grew it to a program with a budget of $225,000 with ministry partners in 17 different countries and numerous projects in others. Together with the rest of our global missions team we built a missions program that our congregation became excited about, supportive of and deeply involved in.

In 2006 I sold my retail business and moved with my family to Idaho to start Discovery Life Coaching and the Strategic Intent Ministry. I divide my time equally between them, writing books and leading the discipleship program at Heart of the City Church in Coeur d’Alene. I have written and published two books, The Art of Celebrity Service and Strategic Intent – Building An Effective Missions Minded Church.

It is my sincere desire to share the Strategic Intent program with as many churches in the U.S. as I can help. I have the experience of working with both start-up church plants and large churches and God has truly blessed my efforts with this program. To put it quite simply, this program works!

I invite you to give me a call, and together we can build a missions program for your church that will bless the world and glorify God.
